If you're looking for a lasting way to give favours at your wedding, then how about wildflower seed favours? They're a yearly reminder of your special day. Here we speak with Teresa from Wildflower Favours.
How did you end up doing what you do?
I used to have a wildflower nursery. I hadn’t even heard of wedding favours 18 years ago and then stumbled across them. Thought it a good idea to do seeds. At that time, there was virtually nobody else doing seed packet favours so it was a good little niche market to be in. Eventually, that side of things was more profitable than the nursery, so I closed that down about 4 years ago.
What's the best part about your job?
Knowing that all my lovely customers are doing something to help our butterflies, bees and other insects!
What's the most unusual wedding you've worked on?
I really don’t know, to be honest, as I never get to hear about what sort of wedding customers are having.
What's your most popular type of wedding product?
Recycled seed packets with wildflower seeds for butterflies and bees.
What advice would you give couples wanting to order your products?
Practically all of our designs can be adapted and personalised in any way – we are very flexible! At no extra cost! Customers can also design their own products or we can design them something bespoke. Two weeks notice is very helpful, particularly during the busy season. The seeds are viable for a few years, so they can be bought whenever really!
